The Library is inviting online viewers to tune in to their Facebook page across the week for select readings Book Week titles shortlisted by the Children's Book Council of Australia, as well as some favourite library titles.
The online adventure will make close reference to this year's Book Week theme: Curious Creatures, Wild Minds.
Library Programs team leader Tori Murray said each session will be posted to the Facebook page at 10.30am each day this week and will be available for a limited time only due to copyright reasons.
"We've put together an exciting program of readings that will take viewers to a host of vibrant venues across town, with a bunch of guest readers to bring each story to life," Ms Murray said.
"Special guest readers include Bathurst mayor Bobby Bourke, as well as some of our long time library supporters, including BooksPlus Bathurst and the Country Women's Association."
Shortlisted Book Week titles include Deborah Kelly's The Thing About Oliver, Vikki Wakefield's This Is How We Change the Ending and David Metzenthen's One Runaway Rabbit.
Ms Murray said Book Week is always a popular event at the library, serving as an annual celebration for all things literature.
"Book Week has attracted scores of children to the library in the past, and we want to ensure the community can still get involved in the occasion from home or school," she said.
"It's a celebration for people of all ages, and it plays a vital role in promoting and honouring the Australian authors and illustrators who strive to entertain keen readers."
Ms Murray said online storytime sessions have proven successful for the library throughout the year, and that Storytime and Baby Rhyme Time sessions will resume in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Book Week is normally held in August, but was delayed due to COVID-19.
