The success of the podcast has taken Sargent by complete surprise.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
"We didn't think we'd get to this point so early in the piece, it's been unreal," he said.
"The Convo commenced with one guest a week which, due to popular demand, has expanded to three weekly shows on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays."
Sargent has aired 40 episodes of The Convo to date, with featured talent including fellow media personalities Joe Hildebrand, Natarsha Belling and Grant Denyer.
The program has also featured a host of locally nurtured talent, including Broadway star Ainsley Melham and popular drag queen entertainer Betty Confetti.
Sargent said the key thing he's taken from producing the program is the sheer honesty in the manner interviewees express their stories.
"The idea of industry burnout comes up a lot, many guests have been rather frank with their experience of being overworked and dealing with toxic work environments," he said.
"I feel it's quite a relevant topic in 2020, as people are starting to comfortably acknowledge a need for change when things aren't quite right."
Sargent said he also values the life lessons he learns from each guest.
"You definitely come out of an interview feeling inspired and motivated to make a difference in your own life, as well as support those around you," he said.
"It's always fulfilling when people come up to you and feel like they're comfortable in an interview setting, because that's precisely what The Convo's all about."
Sargent has also produced episodes around local and national events such as R U OK Day, which has inspired him to foster a more open and honest environment for future episodes.
