Officers attached to Chifley Police District responded to reports a woman was in labour at a home in Kelso about 5am last Sunday, October 18.
They attended and assisted the woman who gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Scarlet, shortly after they arrived.
The officers continued to provide assistance to the woman and baby until medical professionals arrived and took them to hospital for monitoring.

"I never thought I'd ever be called upon to deliver a baby in a situation like that;" Senior Constable Sara Bramley said.
"It was very special, a real once-in-a-career job.
"I was relieved when the midwife and paramedic arrived and I knew that mum and bub were on their way to hospital.
"You never know what's going to happen on Bathurst 1000 weekend."
