The Bathurst District Football graduate is back in pre-season training with Sydney FC and already he is driven by the hunger to win another championship.
In August Grant was the hero for Sydney FC as his 100th minute goal handed them a 1-0 win over Melbourne City in the A-League decider. He also won the Joe Marston Medal as best on ground.
Though it was one of his career highlights, the star defender said he prefers not to reflect on it.
"I definitely don't look back at that goal too often, I think it's quite embarrassing anyway the way I carried on after it to watch it and get any motivation from that," he said.
"I often forget I got the Joe Marston and obvious scored the goal, so it's just one of those things of getting back into it and playing footy like we do every year."
Instead his motivation comes from finding more success with Sydney FC and adding to his 12 Socceroos caps.
"I'm at the stage of my career where I want to continue to play well and really see what can come of that and when it comes to international games and representing the Socceroos and breaking more records here with Sydney FC, so there's plenty more ahead," he said.
"As I get back on the field and run around and kick a ball it's very hard not to give your all, so the motivation is still there to keep doing well for Sydney and beyond that.
"The biggest thing is trying to keep that motivation and drive going forward and to try and win another championship."
