The new Kmart store is located at the site of the old Target outlet in the Armada Shopping Centre.
Workers have been busy since Target closed on Saturday, October 10, to refurbish the 3875 square metre space into a Kmart outlet.

Kmart's General Manager of Stores, Chris Renshaw, says the team have been working hard to bring this new store life for the people of Bathurst.
"We've been blown away by the support and feedback from the local community and we can't wait to officially welcome everyone into our new-look store on Thursday," he said.
Kmart closed in the shopping centre, then known as Stockland, back in 2007, being then replaced by a Target outlet.
The move was warmly welcomed by Bathurst shoppers at the time but sluggish national trading figures by Target in recent years has forced another change in tack by parent company Wesfarmers.
Wesfarmers announced in May that a number of its Target outlets would be converted to Kmarts before confirming in July that the Bathurst store was among those to be impacted.
The company previously confirmed that Kmart would provide a "guaranteed job offer for all the Target team" currently employed in Bathurst.
Kmart's opening will mark the second new store to open at the Armada Shopping Centre in the space of a week, with OPSM hosting its grand opening on Saturday, October 24.
Doors are set to open at the new Kmart store at 8am.
