A turnout of more than 70 swimmers made their way to a big night of celebrations, with everyone reflecting on what's been a challenging but successful year for the club.
Sienna Whalan and Caleb Cashman were named the club's female and male athletes of the year while Will Kelly topped the club's end-of-season point score.
Head coach Josh Stapley was thrilled by the turnout.
"It was our biggest turnout for a swim club night in recent years and probably 70 swimmers racing on the night. That was so great to see, and wonderful to see such support," he said.
"We also launched our season on the night and announced our new sponsors for the 2020-21 season, which was another great drawcard. The night was really well received and it's good to see so many people excited for the new season."
Whalan and Cashman had very memorable seasons for the club and Stapley said they were very worthy recipients of their awards.
"Our pointscore winners for the last two seasons were announced - because we didn't get to have a presentation night for our long course season - which celebrates everyone who had the most personal bests throughout the season. Will Kelly cleaned up the A grade point score," he said.
"My coaches awards were also done for over the entire year, not just the season gone, and it was interesting to see who was the most consistent performer over a 12 month period.
"My female athlete of the year was Sienna Whalan after her terrific campaign. It almost saw her make the National Age Championships, which she might have achieved had COVID not shut us down before having the opportunity to go to another meet or two.
"She's made the jump up to gold squad and last weekend broke the 50 metre breaststroke record at the Orana Aquatic Carnival.
"Caleb has been a very consistent performer who shined at the Country Long Course Championships, where he narrowly missed out on the medals."
