Rural Fire Service Operation Officer, Brett Taylor, said the grass fire at Evans Plains was started by a slasher.
He said after receiving the triple 000 call at 3.46pm the RFS responded with three brigades but when the group officer arrived on scene, only two of the units were required.
He said the fire burnt out about half a hectare of grass.
MAKING NEWS:
He said the first truck arrived at 4.05pm, and the fire was extinguished within 30 minutes.
Operations Officer Taylor said the fact it was the second grass fire within a week, RFS were certainly more aware of the risks at the moment, and were reminding property owners to be vigilant.
"While it might be green on top, the grass underneath is starting to dry out.
"It's going to continue to dry out, and when that happens we will have fields of brown, and given the right conditions, a large grass fire could go for kilometres before we could get a handle on it."
He said fortunately for firefighters, conditions on Tuesday assisted them.
"Today it wasn't windy. If we had windy conditions today, like we had on Monday, it could have been a very different story," he said.
