MORE than two years after a devastating fire at its laundry in Brilliant Street, Glenray Industries has found a new home for its head office.
Staff have moved into 225 Howick Street, a site formerly occupied by LiveBetter.
After the fire in May, 2018, the board and management of Glenray decided to seize the opportunity to make the offices more accessible to clients and sought a location close to town.
The new premises is more modern, providing private meeting spaces for NDIS clients, as well as opportunities for participants and staff to engage in onsite training in the purpose-designed training facility.
The facilities have been maximised for collaboration, and combining all management and support coordination staff together will improve the continuity of care for clients and participants.
General manager of Glenray, Kath Graham, said staff had been looking forward to having the new premises.
"We have been eagerly awaiting this opening for over two years," she said.
"This move will facilitate better delivery of our services and programs, and provide further opportunity for people with a disability to reach their full potential."
The opening of the new head office comes a year and a half after Glenray's new laundry was officially unveiled.
The re-build of the laundry has enabled Glenray to improve its services.
Its new state-of-the-art equipment has provided the capacity to increase its tonnage to 70 tonne per week, while the building itself is also more energy efficient.
No staff members, including supported employees, lost their jobs as a result of the fire.
