THE coronavirus pandemic has put an end to this year's Bathurst Relay For Life, but it's done nothing to ease the demand for services the relay supports.

So this weekend the Bathurst organising committee will hold a fundraiser with a difference to raise money for Cancer Council NSW.
The fundraiser will be run on social media and community radio 2MCE, supported by local artists and businesses.
Committee chairman Dr Donald Alexander said the Bathurst Relay For Life Facebook page would feature local musicians who had donated performances of their songs to the fundraiser.

There will also be with interviews with cancer survivors, carers and Transport to Treatment volunteers to demonstrate the impact of the funds raised and the Cancer Council's mission.
There will be an online raffle with prizes donated by local business houses, a quilt by Belinda Betts from Eucalypt Ridge Quilting, high tea at the Hydro Majestic's Wintergarden venue, biking accessories from Renshaw's Pedal Project and more. The raffle will be drawn on Friday, December 4.
"A candlelit Hope ceremony will conclude the appeal on Saturday evening where we can reflect and remember loved ones lost to cancer," Dr Alexander said.
"There will be opportunities to donate to the Bathurst Relay appeal online and via text during the day, with 2MCE also covering the appeal."
Outside of Saturday's online event, 12 Bathurst teams have signed up for the Relay Your Way project and each will be running their own Cancer Council fundraisers.
"Team Kenny Springers are hosting an 80s Trivia Night next Wednesday (November 25) at the Knickerbocker Hotel which you can book a table for; Team The Two of Us will be walking around town with a giant, inflatable poo emoji to raise vital awareness around bowel cancer and screening, and Scots All Saints College will be holding their own program of fundraising activities and school relay on Friday, December 4," Dr Alexander said.
