The club held its annual general meeting on Wednesday evening at Panthers Bathurst, with the same committee of Darryl Macauley (president), Kathy Sloan (secretary), Liz Symes (treasurer), James Kennedy (senior vice-president) and Ash Boylan (junior vice-president) reelected.

Following the AGM, Sloan said the Central West AFL club held a strategic planning meeting, which outlined where the club wants to be in the next five years.

"We're trying to put in a five-year-old strategic plan, which is our big focus for next year," she said.

"We've been going for seven years now so we want to grow and hopefully have a second-tier men's team.

"Off-field, we're trying to become more strategic. We've had massive growth, so we're trying to build on that."

And while the Giants had plenty of success on the field - playing in four grand finals across juniors and seniors - Sloan said it was a difficult year for volunteers and parents off the field as they dealt with the impact from the coronavirus pandemic on the sport.

"Off-field was challenging with COVID," she said.

"Everyone would talk about how hard it was on volunteers and I'd have to say that's true.There was a lot of work. Hopefully things will improve.

"I'd hate for it to be another year like that, but the positive was that we got football in when a lot of other people didn't get football in.

"I don't think the players released how hard it was. They turned up and got their footy, which is great, but I think the committee, the parents and the off-field people found it hard work.

"There was a lot of paperwork, cleaning and things were changing every week. It wasn't a lot of fun.

"The social aspect of the football, which is what we all play community sport for, was really fraught. I'm hoping that goes back to normal."

Giants were successful in three deciders, winning the women's competition 3-1-19 to 0-2-2 to Dubbo Demons, the under 17s 7-11-53 to 2-3-15 to the Orange Tigers and 2-7-19 to 0-7-7 to the Orange Tigers in the youth girls.

The only decider the Giants made and didn't win was the men's tier one grand final, going down to city rivals Bathurst Bushrangers 19-14-128 to 8-4-52.
