The trio was one of the 14 teams from Bathurst's CrossFit 2795 who attended the event at Newcastle, winning their category by four points.
While some athletes had participated in online events since the COVID-19 pandemic, CrossFit 2795's Dan George was delighted to see how Corby, Maloney, Head and the the gym's other competitors performed in their first big event in months.
"It was a really good showing, it was basically a celebration of what we do throughout the weeks, throughout the months," George said.
"It was great way to bring the community together and really have some fun with it. People were out of their comfort zones, we had first-timers, we had people who are only new to the gym since the re-start, it was just a really good experience.
"We also had some of our young, bright, future superstars there, a couple of our 14-year-olds competed and it was awesome to watch them get in and get involved in it as well.
"It's a rewarding part of what we do, it makes you smile to watch these guys get out of their comfort zones and actually realise they're capable of more than they think. It's great to see their best come out."
Staged by Brodie Scott's Freezing Hot CrossFit gym, the Tri-Fit Games attracted a good number of teams even though it had been postponed from its original June timeslot due to COVID-19.
Corby had actually planned to contest another online event, but when that fell through she reunited with Maloney and Head to try defend their Tri-Fit Games title.
They were one of six teams in the advanced female category.
"They only got their ticket late because Ash was meant to be in an online event the same weekend, but it fell through. So they got their ticket a little late but they were clear winners on the day," George explained.
"They won three out of their six events and were top three in the others, so it was just a dominant, dominant display all-round from Bea, Kezz and Ash."
The Bak 2 Bak team won the get in sync workout, did 80 more repetitions than any other outfit in shoulder fire and were 30 seconds faster than their closest rival in the dumbbell wielding gymnasts workout.
They placed second in the weightlifting show me what you've got workout as they lifted a combined 230 kilograms, and were third in bring the heat and slopes.
"There was a nice little chipper they won which involved a heavy dumbbell and plenty of gymnastics work and they won a burpee-handstand-push-up event, they dominated that one," George said.
"While they came second in their weightlifting one, it was a complex which was three deadlifts, a clean into a hang clean and Ash nearly would have got the heaviest of the day out of the girls which is crazy because she's so tiny.
"That was a combined total from the three girls, it was a huge effort from the girls. They were just consistent and definitely were a benchmark, the heats they were in, they picked up the other competitors around them too."
