Jade Evans, Fun Fair organiser, said it was the second time they have come to the city, after their September visit was a sold out event.
She said with numbers restricted to ensure Covid safety, the September event sold out a week before they arrived in Bathurst.
"People were asking us when we could return, they were frantic for us to come back," she said.
She said those involved in the fair always love coming to Bathurst.
"We do the shows, Winter Festival and other events.

"I think it's just nice to bring some joy to an otherwise hard year. It's been a hard mental slog for everyone."
She said the feedback from people visiting the fun fair has been amazing.
"People really love it, I think they really appreciate us coming here."
She said the ride operators were equally grateful to have the support of the community.
"They are grateful to be ale to work after seven or eight months with no work," she said.
She said the Fun Fair has recently been in both Mudgee and Lithgow so it suited the them to return to Bathurst over this weekend and next.
Ms Evans said despite the hot windy conditions of the weekend, people still turned out in force.
"Thankfully it wasn't quite as hot as they were expecting, we have misting fans all around the grounds, and there are massive trees all around the showground which kept it quite cool," she said.
As for next weekend, while heavily booked, Ms Evans said there are still some tickets left.
She said as in previous weekends the fair will run in two four-hour stints; 11am until 3pm and 4pm until 8pm
As is next weekend, though there are still a few tickets left, and bookings can be made on line, or purchased at the gate.
She said she thinks the reason the Fun Fair has been so popular is that it gives families really good value for money.
"For $30 you get an armband which gives you access to all the rides for four hours.
"There's 15 rides including a Ferris wheel, giant inflatables, dodgem cars and putt putt golf. When you compare that to say paying anywhere between $6 and $10 per ride elsewhere the value is there."
Ms Evans said even the $5 entry fee was redeemable for either a free game or food once inside. She said they wanted to do free entry, but due to Covid, they have to know exactly how many people are inside.
