It's a team stacked with plenty of talented juniors who have already had the opportunity to enjoy open-level representation for their city in other competitions and they'll hope to use that additional experience to their advantage against players their own age.
One of those players who has enjoyed such a chance is captain Ethan Muller, who was out in the middle scoring the winning runs for Bathurst in Sunday's Rod Hartas Cup win over Blue Mountains.
He's keen to the matchup against rivals Orange in Saturday's opening round, where Bathurst players will try and turn the tables after last season's finals defeat.
"It's such an honour to captain this team. I'm really looking forward to it and it should be a good couple of days," he said.
"I've had captaincy experience when I was younger but haven't done so in the past few years so I'm excited to take on the opportunity."
Muller is one of several Bathurst players who will remember all too well what happened in last season's three wicket defeat to Orange.
Cooper Brien, Tom Judge, Tom Lynch, Hamish Siegert and Charlie Hutchings all make their return to the colts side in their bid for a revenge win.
With so many returning faces it's no wonder Muller has a high degree of confidence in the team to make the step up.
"We've got a lot of great bowlers and plenty of good batsmen," he said.
"It's a good mix. I reckon we'll do well."
Muller was one of several Bathurst colts members taking part in last Sunday's Rod Hartas Trophy game win against Blue Mountains at the Sportsground.
He hit 11 unbeaten runs to see Bathurst home during his short stay at the crease, and enjoyed the chance to test himself at the senior level.
"It was great batting out there just now in tough conditions," he said after coming off the field.
"I'm just learning as I go and really looking forward to the challenge of next weekend."
All of the weekend's games will be taking place at Jack Braham 1 and 2 in Orange.
The winner of the Bathurst versus Orange clash on Saturday will face the winner of the Dubbo-Chairman's XI clash the following day, while the losers play off for third.
All games across the weekend will be starting from 10am.
