I RECENTLY had the pleasure of being part of an excursion to the South Keswick solar farm on the outskirts of Dubbo.

The excursion was organised by Neoen, the company responsible for South Keswick and now the proposed Eglinton solar farm.
Tom Warren, the farmer at Dubbo who owns the property, spoke at length and we were able to ask questions.

We witnessed the merinos grazing happily on the far side of the panels.
All my positive thoughts on solar farms were confirmed and it was interesting to learn the farmer was approached by Dubbo Council with the suggestion to use his farm for the solar farm.
There was only one small objection to the proposal, which was easily rectified, with everyone happy to see such an innovative project in action.
I am now hoping Eglinton will have the same success Dubbo has had for the last couple of years.
