This day is to formally acknowledge and thank all volunteers for their commitment in giving back to their communities.
Those at the Neighbourhood Centre (TNC) witness on a daily basis the difference volunteers make each and every day and for this we are truly appreciative and thank them.
In our Volunteer Engagement and Management Program for 2019-2020, TNC supported 688 volunteers across our region contributing to not only the wellbeing of so many but our environment and local economies.
This year is particularly special given the recognition of one of our own, Bev Cooney, who won the 2020 NSW Volunteer of the Year for the Central West. Bev supports The Neighbourhood Centre's Dementia Café - D'Caf.
D'Caf supports people who have dementia and their carers to connect with their community, meet people and have a few laughs, while enjoying some light refreshments.
TNC provides a quiet space to meet and is run by friendly and welcoming trained volunteers. The group meets weekly on Wednesdays. To find out more, contact TNC on 6332 4866.
TNC will host a Volunteer Celebration today (Thursday, December 3) as we tune in live to watch the NSW State Volunteer Awards Gala Ceremony.
Bev is in the running for NSW State Volunteer of the Year. Good luck, Bev!
