I can see as well that the well-established iconic poplars that have graced our fair city entrance for over 100 years will likely be chopped down to make way for cement median strips.
Why can't we take these trees and make them part of a new highway landscape? They could stay as the median strip.

I don't know why Bathurst is always doing things like this. Look at the avenue of old poplars that were taken out of the Eleven Mile Drive entrance.
What a disgraceful thing to do - that beautiful tree line, natural cooling system now gone. The horses at Tyers Park now exposed, the landscape exposed and nothing done to replace this vandalism.
I am so sick to death of seeing Bathurst - a beautiful city - slowly destroying all of its natural beauty.
For those who say they are going to replant the trees, well, who is going to make sure they grow in these uncertain weather extremes?
It takes love, water and decades of care to grow big trees. Stop felling them.
