By 4pm, the mercury peaked at 35.9 degrees, the highest temperature of the day before the Western Advocate went to print.

The temperature had gone as a low at 10 degrees around 5.30am on Tuesday morning, but the temperature quickly rose, hitting the 20 degrees mark by 9.30am, before going beyond the 30 degrees mark by midday.
Tuesday's hot weather continued the trend of recent hot days for Bathurst, with the mercury hitting 32.1 on Friday and 35.1 on Saturday.
Some cooler weather is expected for the rest of the week, with the mercury forecast not to go above 30 degrees for the next six days.
