Centennials Bulls had their hopes dashed with another defeat in their second game of the season but Bathurst City and City Colts all have a chance to be in the final eight.
Bathurst City need Orange City to do them a favour by beating Molong in their upcoming clash on Friday if they're to make it into the quarter finals.
City Colts will face Centrals in a winner-takes-all clash the following Friday night after the Saints bested both of them in the pool stages, leaving the pair to fight for second spot in their pool.
Meanwhile Rugby Union has an agonising wait until January for their game against Cavaliers, but both teams are guaranteed a place in the top eight after they each bested Centennials.
The Royal Hotel Cup added to what was already a hectic start to the season for many St Pat's Old Boys players.
Given the team's strength over the past few seasons their players have gained the biggest share of representative cricket in that time.
Captain Adam Ryan said the team have done a great job to add the winning start to the cup on top of what's already been a great beginning to the season across all formats.
"It's been a really busy start to the season but sometimes that's good because it keeps you primed and ready for games. I think in the past that's helped us a lot because a lot of our junior players are playing other cricket as well," he said.
"The boys have enjoyed the last couple of weeks being a bit quieter. Some of the boys have enjoyed some time in the Rod Hartas competition and then there's a couple of them away playing in the [Western Zone] under 18s competition this weekend, so there's four going away to that.
"We're happy with how we've gone in these Twenty20 games. We set a total in the first game and chased in the second. We probably still prefer to set the total and back our bowlers to do the job but you can't always win the toss."
