The Gemma Hewitt trained and driven Cowgirls N Angels ($3.30 favourite) won an exciting finish of the For A Reason Pace (1,730 metres), where four horses finished within three metres of one another.
Molliesmarywelle ($4.20, Bernie Hewitt) led the field into home with Enkspotshannon ($3.40, Travis Bullock) on her tail, while Cowgirls N Angels was launching a fast three wide move from the rear of the pack.
Long shot Tulhurst Terror ($101, Angela Hedges looked full of running as he ducked for the sprint lane and drew alongside Enkspotshannon.
Molliesmaryelle battled on bravely under pressure from the two horses to the inside but it was on the outside where the winning move was unfolding.
Cowgirls N Angels flew past Molliesmaryelle inside the last 50 metres to take her fifth career win.
Enkspotshannon beat Molliesmaryelle in the battle for second in a photo finish.
The winning mile rate was 1:57.0, a new career best winning time for Cowgirls N Angels.
Hewitt said the American Ideal mare continues to be a headcase on and off the track but her ability is there for everyone to see.
"I think she has a lot of talent but probably just has a lot going on in her mind. I'm just trying to sort that out and that's been a long struggle," she said.
"But the way we've been driving her lately, driving her from the back and coming home with one run, seems to be working. She wasn't on her best behaviour again tonight but she fell in.
"When we get her sorted and when she matures I think she'll be a nice Menangle mare. We have to get her happy and doing things right. She's got a big motor and we've just got to sort it all out."
Wins were spread out amongst trainers at Wednesday night's meeting with Steve Turnbull the only person to claim more than one victory (with Major Bracken and Windy Hill Wally).
