A few questions, if I may: how will Blue Mountains residents get on and off the Great Western Highway, which is their local road?
How will the money-spending tourists get on and off the Great Western Highway to visit Norman Lindsay's Gallery at Faulconbridge; shop in quirky Springwood; wander along charming Leura Mall; turn off at Wentworth Falls to hike down to the base of the Falls; have a spa day at Lilianfels; spend hours at the Three Sisters, the Scenic Railway, Katoomba town and the Hydro Majestic in Medlow Bath?

How will they take in all the sights and eat in the fabulous cafes in so many of the pretty villages dotted all along the Great Western Highway?
Ahhh, one presumes that the 26-plus sets of traffic lights will still be used to allow traffic to move on and off the Great Western Highway.
Well, mayors, there goes your 100km/h "freeway".
What does it take to get through to some people that the Great Western Highway can't be upgraded and turned into a faux motorway.
A new road must be built, 100km/h all the way from one side to the other.
Start with the proposed long tunnel at Blackheath and join it to a bypass around Medlow Bath, then get some intelligent engineers to take it from there.
Mayors, don't leave this with Transport for NSW to work out. They've shown they have no clue.
You've spoken up - now work it out.
