THE Bathurst Business Chamber is preparing its policy agenda for the next 12 months and has called upon local business owners to help.

President Catherine Fitzsimons said the chamber will host small "town hall" meetings that business owners can attend to provide their insights on the challenges for local businesses.
"We want to hear from businesses in town as to what the issues are that they think they are going to be facing next year that they want the chamber to address for them, either with council, with Business NSW or Business Australia, so we can put together a small number of policy issues that are most important to Bathurst businesses and work hard with businesses to address them," she said.
"... We want to make sure the chamber is addressing the issues that are most critical to businesses - is it opening hours, is it parking, is it DA approvals, what are the things that are really going to help businesses recover in 2021?"
The meetings will be held on Tuesday, December 15 in the Reliance auditorium and the Kenny Springs Solicitors office.
There are two half-hour sessions available, one from 4.45pm and the other from 5.30pm.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only a limited number of people will be able to attend the sessions.
People who would like to come need to book in advance via the Bathurst Business Chamber website. The sessions are available for the whole business community, not just members of the chamber.
The two sessions on December 15 are identical, so people just need to pick which time suits them best.
"They're going to be just small sessions with a couple of the directors from the board of the chamber, who will be listening and noting down all of the ideas, suggestions and concerns that businesses have," Ms Fitzsimons said.
The information provided at the sessions will be incorporated into the chamber's agenda for 2021.
