Former Tour de France cyclist and now Bathurst business owner Mark Renshaw features in the latest episode of an innovative Scots All Saints College television program, Bonjour Bathurst.
Year seven students Mia Rodenhuis and Deliah Wu were given the job of interviewing the former globetrotting cyclist, who opened Renshaw's Pedal Project in May.
They got his insights on living in France and the value of learning to speak another language and discovered how his passion for cycling is inspiring students.
Scots All Saints College Bathurst believes it is one of the only schools in NSW, and possibly Australia, that has its own French language television program.
The aim of the Bonjour Bathurst film production is to give Junior (kindergarten to year four) and Middle School (years five to eight) students a chance to learn and practise their language skills in the community, bringing the classroom to the real world.
"Scots All Saints is fortunate to have Mark [Renshaw] as a parent at our college, who has been involved as a specialist instructor as part of our Junior and Middle School Active Afternoons sports program teaching cycling skills and bike safety," director of community engagement and marketing Mel Monico said.
"Thanks to Mark for being involved and sharing your expertise to promote bike safety and new skills."
