The donation continues the RSL Club's annual support for the appeal, and general manager Peter Sargent said this year's contribution is especially pertinent considering the tough year it has been for many families.

"We just wanted to bring joy to as many people as possible," Mr Sargent said.

"It's been a really tough year for the community, and there will obviously be people in need of assistance, so we feel it's our duty as a club to give back."

The RSL Club has also donated $500 to the annual Bathurst community Christmas lunch organised by Barney Rumble.

Bathurst Salvation Army Family Store manager Steve Barrott said the donation will go a long way to ensure disadvantage children in the community experience some Christmas cheer.

"There's a lot of kids out there who are really looking forward to presents this year, so we're thankful for everyone in the community who has donated," Mr Barrott said.

"We've already amassed more than five truck loads of toys, which is set to benefit anywhere from 300 to 400 children."

"The donations will cater for children of all ages, from toddlers up to 14-year-olds."

The Toy Appeal has seen a wide range of community organisations donate thus far, including Bathurst High Campus, The Dance Factory, Bake Table and Tea and the Raglan Rural Fire Brigade.

2BS general manager Janeen Hosemans said "it's been far and away the most successful toy appeal we have done."
