'Sell Your Soul' is a song exploring how various people view success and career fulfillment, and Bathurst musician Andy Nelson has used his latest release to highlight the importance of following your passion.

The song, which was released on December 6, is the third single from Nelson's 2019 debut album Man on the Mountain, and, like his previous two singles, features a unique and atmospheric music video, this time directed and produced by Jefferton James.
"We commenced production on the video last August, and we put it together in little snippets over a matter of months," Nelson said.
"I basically let Jefferton and Dimity Kennedy [fellow producer] assume full creative control over the video, I didn't tell them a single thing."
The video makes use of a range of noteworthy locations around the Central West, including Bathurst, Macquarie Woods, Millthorpe, the Glow Worm Tunnel between Lithgow and Newnes and Blackheath.
Accompanying the scenic videography is a silhouetted image of Nelson against a white backdrop, evoking the album art for Man on the Mountain.
"Jefferton and Dimity had many hours of footage to go through by the end of filming, and I'm absolutely stoked with how the final product looks," Nelson said.
"With all three music videos, I've let the director design it around their own interpretation of the song, and it's always exciting to see how other creatives interpret your work."
'Man on the Mountain', the first single released last May, was accompanied by a music video of Nelson at work in the studio recording the record, and was directed by Elena Green, whose husband, Syd Green [19-Twenty] produced the record.
The second single, 'Late Night Letter', saw director Andy Flakelar, who has worked with the likes of Jay-Z, Alicia Keys and James Blunt, adopt the short film route, telling the story of a fractured family navigating an economic downturn in a small town, with Portland serving as the backdrop.
'Late Night Letter' was named a finalist in the 2020 Canberra Short Film Festival, and Nelson said the video has received international exposure.
"'Late Night Letter' got played at the Newport Beach Film Festival in California and the Lift-Off Film Festival in Amsterdam, and it was also a semi-finalist at the Australian Independent Film Festival in Brisbane," he said.
"Andy's an excellent filmmaker, so I really wanted to push his work in front of a diverse array of audiences."
Nelson is hopeful for a productive 2021 on the gigging front following a tough year for the live entertainment industry.
