But before we get into that, let's look at where we stand so far.
Twelve teams signed on to compete in this year's Twenty20 competition and were then split into four groups of three.
The top two from each group would then move on to the quarter finals where it would become a knockout competition. Those teams that signed up this year were Orange City, Bathurst City, Molong, St Pat's Old Boys, Centrals, City Colts, Kinross, CYMS, Lithgow, Rugby Union, Cavaliers and Centennials Bulls.
With 10 games now in the books, Molong, City Colts and Centennials Bulls have already been eliminated. All that is left now is to see who goes through from Pool C which features Kinross - who are assured of a place in the next round - CYMS and Lithgow, who play each other Friday night in a do-or-die contest.
So what does this all mean you might be asking? Well, after Friday night's game, we will know which eight teams will still be alive for a chance to take home the title.
In terms of recent history, it has been Cavaliers who have grabbed the most silverware.
They have won three of the previous eight competitions, although they have not won in back-to-back years, something they would have to change this year round after their five run victory over St Pat's in the 2019/20 competition.
Other recent winners include Orange City, CYMS, Lithgow, Bulls and St Pat's.
So the question has to be asked; can Cavs keep their winning ways going on the way to an 18th Royal Hotel Cup win?
Despite getting off to a blistering start in the Bathurst Orange Inter District Cricket first grade competition, having won five of their first six games, there have been a few scares for Cavs. This includes their current match against Rugby Union where they will be chasing 368 on Saturday for victory.
As fortune would have it, Rugby and Cavs will meet in the first game back for 2021 as they look to determine who will finish in top spot of their Twenty20 group.
Finishing first could prove pivotal with how the competition is structured as group winners then face off against a team that finished second in another group and this punter reckons Rugby will come on top in the 2021 clash.
So who have been the standout players so far?
Well with bat in hand it's hard to look away from Rugby's Ryan Peacock and Orange City's Lachlan Coyte.
Peacock blasted 90 in their only match so far, while Coyte has scores of 73 and 10 to his name.
While Twenty20 might be a batsman's game, these bowlers has certainly shone with the ball.
In his only game for Kinross in the Cup, James Larkin bagged the incredible figures of 4-5, while Orange City's Edward Morrish leads all wicket-takers with five from his two games.
So for this year, who are the best bets to come out with the title?
We'll get to that in a little bit, but first let's check in with Orange District Cricket president Mark Frecklington to see what he's thought of the season so far.
"I think it's gone pretty well so far and it's good to have three extra teams to last year," he said.
"The normal contenders are all in the mix like St Pat's and Cavaliers.
"The one team that has surprised a little bit is Kinross and it will be interesting to see what happens post-Christmas as there may be some interesting match ups."
Now onto the power rankings.
Number one is Orange City. City ran out easy winners in both games they have played so far, even putting on a mammoth 209 against Molong.
It's the batting depth that has earned them top spot in these rankings. The ability to slot Blake Weymouth and Ed Morrish in the middle order could prove crucial, as one bad game will be enough to knock a team out.
Number two on the power rankings is St Pat's. The boys in blue are one of three teams yet to lose in the BOIDC and have knocked off both Centrals and City Colts on their way to a first place finish in the group stage.
It's also fair to say their biggest bat has yet to fire as well. Connor Slattery is averaging a ridiculous 226 in the first grade competition, but has put together scores of just three and zero in the shortest form of the game. If he can get going then they will be hard to stop.
Number three on the power rankings is Rugby Union. We've previously touched on Rugby, who have been very up and down this season. But I think their Saturday game against Cavaliers is the jump start they need to power home.
Number four on the power rankings is Cavaliers. Cavs have been the team to beat all season, but with high hopes comes a lot of pressure to perform.
It's the three-headed bowling attack of Charlie Greer, Kyle Buckley and Hugh Britton that will need to fire if Cavs are going to take out the title.
Number five on the power rankings is CYMS. This could prove a foolish spot to rank them, given as though they are yet to qualify for the next round. But this cricket fan has faith that they will triumph over Lithgow and secure top spot in the group.
Number six on the power rankings is Centrals. A self-confessed underdog, they managed to squeeze into the next round thanks to a dominant performance over City Colts. Look to Cameron Rasmussen to be the difference-maker with the bat.
Number seven on the power rankings is Kinross. The lone bright spot on the season is this competition, so they will no doubt be putting all their energy into staying in it. If they are to have any success it will be because of Larkin.
Number eight on the power rankings is Bathurst City. They have struggled mightily this season, recording just the two wins across all competitions. If they are to make a push for the title, they will need to rely on Daniel Casey to carry them.
