Frisby has three horses entered in the race - Aphorism, Uncle Jord and Our Uncle Sam - and they're all in good form, so no doubt he'll be hoping at least one of his chances can replicate the form of Dinki Di, who won the memorial race for him back in 2005.
Our Uncle Sam has experience of racing in the Shirley Turnbull in previous years and has fallen just short at two times of asking, with a second in last year's running and third place the previous year.
"Second last year and third the year before, I think. He went good both times but hopefully he get closer this year," Frisby said.

"Shirley Turnbull is one of those races you'd always like to win, like the Gold Crown and the Hunter Cup. It's always up there and I've been lucky to win the Shirley Turnbull before. I won it with Dinky Di in 2005."
Our Uncle Sam comes into the memorial with a fourth in the Quambys Stayers Cup in Dubbo on December 18, after a spell of running in Queensland.
Frisby's other two starters - Aphorism and Uncle Jord - have also had a run of starts in Queensland in recent months, with the former having three starts in NSW since returning from up north and the latter set to have his first start in NSW since June.
"Aphorism and Uncle Jord are almost the same. There's not much difference between them," Frisby said.
"Uncle Jord, he's probably in the better form. He was running really well in Queensland and he run the other night in Melbourne with a good run.
"He only run fourth, but he came from last and they came home really quick, which is hard to do Melton. So it is."
Frisby believes the long distance will suit Aphorism and there's no doubt he's use it, with six of his last 11 starts being in races beyond 2000 metres.
"He doesn't mind the distance, so he does," Frisby said.
"He's good over that distance. He's going well, very nice and I couldn't be happier with the three of them actually.
"You don't want to get cocky because that's how you get beat and get dirty."
The Shirley Turnbull Memorial is the feature race of the Bathurst Harness Racing Club's traditional Boxing Day meeting, being the fifth of an eight race meeting, with the first getting underway at 6.17pm.
The Shirley Turnbull Memorial is expected to get underway at 8.22pm.
