The revelation comes as council determined its latest funding allocations under the Rural Village Improvements Program.
The program was introduced by council in 2005-06.
"The program is based on the premise of horizontal equity - "the provision of public facilities each of a similar grade" to villages across the local government area," council's director of Cultural and Community Services, Alan Cattermole, said.
"Since the program's introduction, Council has made contributions to the villages of Hill End, Rockley, Sofala, Trunkey Creek, Wattle Flat, Sunny Corner and Yetholme in improving the infrastructure available to their residents.
"Over $1,000,000 has been provided through this program during the last twelve years."
This year, council has resolved to provide about $21,000 to the villages.
The Rockley and District Community Association will receive $2850 to install solar panels at the School of Arts Hall and a further $1425 for maintenance and repairs in the hall.
Two groups in Sofala will receiving funding, with $1425 going to the Sofala and District Agricultural and Horticultural Show Society to help repair the kitchen meeting room at the showground, while the Sofala Progress Association will receive $1425 for three projects.
Council will also give $1425 each to four other groups, the Sunny Corner and District Progress Association, the Wattle Flat Heritage Lands Land Manager, the Wattle Flat Progress Association and the Rockley Sportsground and Hall Management Committee, for their projects.
