The couple's wedding reception was held at a city venue on Sunday and NSW Police received a tip off through Crime Stoppers about the event.

Police were called to a venue on Pirrama Road in Pyrmont, Sydney, and after speaking with staff and attendees, recorded contact details of more than a dozen guests who reside in the northern beaches.

Initially, nine northern beaches residents who attended the wedding were each handed a $1000 penalty infringement notice (PINs), they included:

NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Mick Willing said on Tuesday that a further three PINs had now been issued.

"There's been 12 infringement notices that have been issued at this point, there will be more that will be issued over coming days," he said.

"That's the type of behaviour that we're trying to discourage, we don't want to put people at risk by acting in a way that would expose others to the virus.

"It's inappropriate behaviour and we've seen it before."

Assistant Commissioner Willing also confirmed that the bride and groom were northern beaches residents and the matter remains under investigation.

"We're trying to work out who is was that was there," he said.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said "all of us were left shaking out heads" following the breaches made by the bride, groom and guests at this wedding.

"If you do the wrong thing you will be caught, especially when it's so brazen," she said.

Police continue to appeal to the community to report suspected breaches of any ministerial direction or behaviour which may impact on the health and safety of the community.
