O'Connell's Renzaglia Wines is one of the local wineries that has benefitted from greater tourist attention over the past six months, with visitors from across the state looking to see what the regions have to offer.
"We were affected quite badly at the onset of COVID-19, but once restrictions on regional travel lifted, we've had people wanting to visit for tastings on a regular basis," Renzaglia Wines co-owner Mark Renzaglia said.
"We're also getting more attention across the state through wine journalists and fine dining restaurants throughout Sydney and the Blue Mountains are starting to request our wines."
Local wineries have formed a key part of the Bathurst Visitor Information Centre's 'Road Trips to Bathurst' campaign, an initiative encouraging visitors to consider a COVID-safe trip to Bathurst for an authentic regional experience.
Mr Renzaglia said welcome rainfall throughout 2020 has put the vineyard in good stead for the coming years.
"We're putting the finishing touches on our cellar door, so we look forward to welcoming more visitors as the COVID-19 situation stabilises and we always encourage locals to come and see what we're all about," he said.
Renzaglia Wines' cellar door is open via appointment only under a COVID-safe plan. To book a visit, call 0413196036.
