A year ago, Bathurst musician Gabbi Bolt would never have expected one of her original compositions to be picked up and performed in a Broadway production.

But over the weekend, Bolt's 'Trash Is Our Treasure' was featured in the Broadway/TikTok production Ratatouille the Musical, with Emmy-award winning actor and comedian Wayne Brady performing the song.
Bolt said the euphoria of a celebrity of Brady's calibre performing her song still hasn't settled.
"My phone has been blowing up for the last two days, it's insane," she said.
"Wayne absolutely crushed the song, and the fact he put so much passion into the performance [complete with make-up and props] made me feel honoured."
Brady's best known for his long-standing role on Who's Line is it Anyway?, his former variety show The Wayne Brady Show, and a recurring role in sitcom How I Met Your Mother, in addition to a lead role in Tony-award winning musical Kinky Boots during its Broadway run.
The American actor sent a video message to Bolt across TikTok praising Bolt for her work on the song.
"I think you've got such a big future...and performing your rat song has made me as proud as anything I've had the opportunity to perform on stage," Brady said to Bolt in the video message.
Ticket sales from the musical have raised over $1 million USD for The Actors Fund, an American charity supporting workers and performers in the entertainment industry.
In a year where COVID-19 has severely impacted the entertainment industry, Bolt hopes the success of the musical will encourage corporations to hire online content producers for work.
"Ratatouille's music team let me co-orchestrate the song, which was an awesome learning experience," she said.
"TikTok has made it possible for up-and-coming online creators to gain attention from professionals, and with so many creators out of work, I feel there's real potential for this concept to continue."
In just three weeks, Bolt's TikTok following has grown from 66,600 to 78,100, and has teased a return to 'AusPol' [Australian politics] content.
She also has the makings of a potential Kath and Kim musical in the works.
