Raymond Bourke's Sudoku Lass ($1.90 favourite) was backed by punters to put in a brilliant debut in the wet conditions at Bathurst and the Fernando Bale bitch lived up to those expectations.
She shot out of the boxes from the inside draw to take up a one length lead in just a few strides to really pile the pressure on her rivals early.
On the approach to the first turn that margin quickly ballooned out to three lengths.
The only two runners who looked truly capable of taking her down were widest starter Elwood ($3.10, Sarah Hopkins) and White Boots ($6.50, Ray Tyquin), who began directly outside the favourite.
Rocky Mountain and Ray Of Hope slipped out of the battle early.
The chasing duo ran alongside one another until midway through the bend Elwood started to eat into what had appeared to be an untouchable margin for the leader.
But the debutant was ready and willing to fight back when feeling the pressure from behind.
She held strong to win in a time of 18.17 seconds with a 1.25 length margin over Elwood, with White Boots a further length and a half back in third.
"She came up to me from Anthony Azzopadi. That was a good start for her," Bourke said following the win.
"She's very quick early on. I'm hoping that she can run a bit further eventually but we'll keep her around here for now."
