"Sometimes I wish I was younger, I feel I've wasted my time," croons Bathurst musician Dave Webb in upcoming single 'Unfinished Sculpture', a song where he proves age is irrelevant when it comes to following a passion.

'Unfinished Sculptures', planned for a January 21 launch, will see Webb continue his retrospective series of self-produced single releases, following September's 'Sunrise'.
Webb said the song explores the concept of self-improvement and the desire to learn and grow from every experience.
"With 'Unfinished Sculptures', I'm essentially describing myself as a piece of art that isn't quite complete yet," he said.
"I'm always trying to sculpt myself into something, but I haven't quite figured it out yet, so the song is essentially a means to honour the joys of self-discovery and being proud of who you are as an individual."
'Unfinished Sculptures', like 'Sunrise', was written 15 years ago during his time in Lithgow band Pilot, which he formed with his mates from high school.
But unlike 'Sunrise', which was re-recorded to honour an original popular among Pilot fans, Webb revisited 'Unfinished Sculptures' with a plan to give it a more modern sound.
"There's more synth sounds and electronic drums that really change up the original's sound but, of course, there's still a guitar solo, which is always a staple of my songs," he said.
"I want this song to reflect who I am now as a musician, which will be a key theme for future releases within this project."
The 'Unfinished Sculptures' single release will be accompanied by inventive cover art produced by Wanaka Digital's Annelise Hagney.
Should 2021 start to look up for live entertainment, Webb said he would like to secure more gigs to perform original music.
"I'm gigging quite a bit at the moment, but they're mostly covers gigs, so I'd love to gain more opportunities to showcase what I've written," he said.
"The plan is to put a band together and hit up some local venues to get some original music events going."
Webb also performs in local duo Momentum alongside Lauren Hagney. A favourite at weddings, the pair released debut album 'Subtitles' in late 2018 and have since released a series of creative interpretations of popular songs, namely Chris Isaak's 'Wicked Game'.
'Unfinished Sculptures' will be available January 21 on all streaming platforms [Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music etc.].
