HE has shown good form in trials and on Friday, 410 days since his last start, Buzzoni will finally make his debut for Bathurst trainer Dean Mirfin.

The now five-year-old was formerly trained by Newcastle's Kris Lees, posting two wins at Lismore in the spring of 2019.
But after placing 10th in a class 2 race at Ballina in November, 2019, it was decided the Nicconi x Sempervirent gelding needed time to mature.
He was sent to the spelling paddock. There he stayed for 52 weeks before being transferred from the Gold Coast to Bathurst as a new member of Mirfin's team.
Mirfin has given Buzzoni two trials at Orange's Towac Park, both against a handy field of sprinters over 1,000 metres.
He won the first on November 20 after travelling wide on the track and kicking down the straight and in the second in December Buzzoni again got the job done, this time coming from some four lengths off the pace.
Having shown promise in those two trials - Buzzoni certainly appearing to have matured - Mirfin nominated him for the December 28 meeting at Towac Park. Unfortunately heavy rain saw the race he was to contest abandoned.
This Friday the weather predictions are more favourable, with Buzzoni set to run in a 1,000m Benchmark 58 at Towac Park. His main rival looks to be the Mike Van Gestel, Hawkesbury trained Charlie Capp who has placed first and second his last two starts at the Orange track.
