Four ambulance crews including the rescue helicopter attended the scene, on O'Connell Road, O'Connell.
A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance said the rider suffered head injuries and a dislocated shoulder in the crash.
He was airlifted from the scene by the rescue helicopter and flown to Orange Airport, where the chopper was met by a road ambulance who then transported the man to Orange Base Hospital.

The accident happened just hours after an earlier tragedy, where an 18-year-old girl lost her life in a crash near Cowra.
The teenager was killed and three others remain in a critical condition following a two-vehicle crash near Morongla.
About 12.30pm, emergency services responded to reports of a crash on Lachlan Valley Way, about 20km south of Cowra.
On arrival, officers attached to Chifley Police District and NSW Ambulance Paramedics were told a 4WD, with a caravan attached, and a sedan, had collided.
Seven ambulance crews and three specialist medical team via helicopter were dispatched to the scene.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, the 18-year-old female driver of the sedan died at the scene.
