The organisation held its annual general meeting on Monday, with four clubs indicating that they would be able to field a side in 2021.

One of those was St Pat's, who won the most recent men's Premier League Hockey premiership in 2019.

PLH secretary Michelle Stevenson said it was "extremely important" that the men's competition go ahead.

"We don't want to be losing juniors to Sydney," she said.

"We think we've got a player base here that we think we can offer them some sought of competition, so hopefully we'll get the teams and clubs to come on board."

Of the teams that think they will be good to go are Orange Wanderers, Lithgow Panthers and Parkes United, with Stevenson adding that St Pat's were "90 per cent sure."

"At the next meeting on February 4, we're asking the men's teams to come back with ideas of how they might want their competition to run as well," the secretary added.

"So hopefully the delegates will talk to some of their players and see what we'll fit in with everyone to make it worth while to go ahead."

The women's competition will involve the same eight sides which played in last season's competition - defending premiers Lithgow Panthers, runners-up St Pat's, Souths, Bathurst City, Parkes, Orange CYMS, Confederates and Ex-Services.
