While Griffith's commitments with the Sydney Sixers in the Women's Big Bash League and the NSW Breakers meant she'd only played two prior games with Penrith this season, she proved just how big an asset she is on Sunday.
Her efforts helped Penrith to a 16-run over Universities in their Twenty20 match, lifting them to seventh on the ladder.
She cracked 48 runs off 40 deliveries for her equal best score in the short format in the NSW Women's Premier Cricket competition.
Griffith put on her third biggest partnership in five seasons, she and fellow Central West talent Phoebe Litchfield forming an 89-run stand for the third wicket.
Then Griffith did a job with the ball, the seamer conceding just 16 runs off her four overs and dismissing Universities' opener Rachel Trenaman - who had hit 62 off 59 - to help Penrith defend their total.
Penrith lost the toss and were sent in to bat and when Griffith arrived at the crease her side was in trouble at 2-20. However, she and Orange young gun Litchfield helped to swing momentum.
The pair both scored at more than a run-a-ball as they saw Penrith into triple figures, the score standing at 109 when Litchfield was finally bowled. She had hit 57 off 46 deliveries.
Griffith batted on, blasting five boundaries before she fell just short of a half century. Her 48 runs saw her career runs in the competition for Penrith go past the 850 mark.
Penrith finished their 20 overs at 4-151.
While Universities openers Maddy Darke (60) and Trenaman (62) settled in at the crease and threatened to run down the total, Griffith got the vital breakthrough in her second spell.
She had Trenaman caught out and with that went Universities' chances.
