Madison Marmion of Skillset Workforce has been awarded the Bert Evans Scholarship.
The scholarship, awarded to apprentices who face extra costs to complete their training, offers $5000 financial assistance per year for two years.
Ms Marmion is undertaking an electrical apprenticeship through Skillset Workforce at PCB Electrical and is being hosted at the Nestle factory in Blayney.
She was congratulated by Member for Bathurst Paul Toole.
"Madison, who lives between Bathurst and Blayney, will be able to use these funds for travel costs for her employment," he said.
"An apprenticeship is a great way to kick-start a career, and apprentices are vital to the state's growth.
"However, it's not always easy to complete a trade qualification when experiencing financial hardship."
The scholarships are named in honour of the late NSW Apprenticeship Ambassador and patron of the NSW Training Awards, Bert Evans AO, in recognition of his support for vocational education and training and for apprentices in NSW.
