Speaking on 2GB Radio, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, said there had been a call for hospitality venues, businesses and events to be allowed to refuse entry to people who are not vaccinated, with the government to have further discussions in the coming weeks.

"The more people that are vaccinated, the greater likelihood we can have a return to normality as we know it," she said.

"I don't ever like to force people to do anything.

"But again, we'd like there to be an incentive system where people are encouraged to have it because it means they can do all these things that they may otherwise not have been able to do."

Luke Mulligan, manager of Paddy's Hotel, said that it was early days on whether they would require vaccination for entry.

"It's certainly something we would look at but it's too soon to make a call," he said.

"I haven't had a chance to sit down with the owners and we would need more information before making a decision.

Bathurst RSL General Manager, Peter Sargent, agreed saying it was an interesting proposal but the Club would wait for more information before they made a call on the policy.

"Circumstances appear to change daily and this is an incredibly complex issue," he said.

"We will just wait and see how things unfold, I'm not even sure how you would enforce it.

"It's already interesting with QR codes and when you add this extra step, it could become quite difficult to monitor.

"We would hope people would get vaccinated however it is an incredibly personal decision."

Ms Berejiklian said that airlines had already indicated that passengers would not be allowed to travel overseas without proof of vaccination.

"I think that'll be an incentive to a lot of people," she said.

"But we'll also consider whether we allow venues to (to refuse entry) and venues do that already, make up their own rules if they have a business or run a workplace about what they feel is COVID-safe."

With the vaccinations due to begin rolling out from March, Ms Berejiklian said she expected the Service NSW app would show a tick if a person had been vaccinated.
