Year after year they struggled in the Western Zone Premier League, failing to make the finals in any of the past ten years.
As Bailey Ferguson put it: "We've been the laughing stock of rep stuff for the last few years."
He is one of 12 players who will travel to Dubbo this weekend to try and knock of the undefeated powerhouse.
But for Ferguson, it's about more than just winning.
"We need to try and get back to just playing good cricket," he said.
"Even if we're losing but playing good cricket it's not that big of an issue, but if we're losing while playing really bad cricket then that's frustrating.
"I think we need to get used to the leadership stuff that's going on and we just need to start playing better cricket. We have potential to be a really good rep team but in the past we just haven't shown that."
Orange have played three matches this season, with two draws and a loss to their name.
But a few new faces in the team has captain Lachy Coyte and the rest of the squad fired up.
"We're definitely up for it," he said.
"You don't travel to Dubbo to just turn up, you go to Dubbo and want to give it a real crack."
Making their debut for the team will be teenagers Jared Seib and Nelson Shepherd.
"Seib has done an excellent job for our club team (Orange City) so far and it's really good that he's gotten a chance," Coyte added.
"I've only played a few games against Nelson but from what I've seen so far, he's a very promising young leggy and I'm pretty excited to use him in my arsenal of bowlers. We've sort of come together and gone 'let's build for the future' so that we're up there with the top teams in a few years to come."
"Honestly, we don't have that much to prove because Dubbo always have a strong outfit.
"We need to do our basics right, work to our plan and go from there. If we can somehow knock over Dubbo or even show a really, really positive fight then that to me is perfect."
The match will take place on Sunday at Dubbo's Victoria Park.
The full team to take on Dubbo is: George Cumming, Jared Seib, Harry McGregor, Nelson Shepherd, Blake Weymouth, Lachy Coyte (captain) Bailey Ferguson, Max Powell, Tom Belmonte, Cam Rasmussen, Hugh Le Lievre (vc) and Ed Morrish.
