Pre COVID-19, the book sales were a monthly event, but the pandemic meant the book sale had to be temporarily suspended.
However with the recent easing of restrictions, the book sale made a return over the weekend, much to the delight of avid readers, who came out in droves to see what titles were on offer.
Jane Cook, team leader at Bathurst Library, said the book sale had proven very popular.
"It's been pretty good, it started on Friday, and we've had a fair few people in on Saturday.
"They seemed to come in incremental groups which was great, because we we're worried about crowding."
She said given it was the first book sale in close to a year, there were plenty of really good books up for grabs.
MAKING NEWS:
Ms Cook said among the popular genres were non fiction and popular fiction.
She said many of the books which had been donated for the sale were in pristine condition.
Shane Summerton, who also works at the library said traditionally the book sale has been a very popular event.
He said because it's the first book sale in a while, there were hundreds of quality books across many topics for sale, with prices as low as 50 cents.
