They are goals he has already taken big steps towards achieving.
The St Pat's talent relocated to Penrith late last year in a bid to further his rugby league career with a club he first represented in 2018 as a member of their Harold Matthews squad.
That season the Panthers were minor premiers and Cosgrove got to experience finals football.
Though not making a Penrith squad in 2019, last year he was selected as part of the Panthers' SG Ball squad.
The talented centre played each of Penrith's games and scored in all but one before COVID forced the cancellation of the 2020 season. At the time the Panthers were sitting fourth, Cosgrove saying: "Yeah, it's pretty devastating."
Though he was able to continue to play with the Saints in the Western Youth League, Cosgrove said he was "pretty keen" for another tilt in SG Ball. He was still eligible given the age criteria has been increased from under 18s to under 19s.
"I moved up here in October and had been doing pre-season training with them since then, I've been training four days a week," he said.
"I just want to try and make the starting team consistently, make it each week. The backs are pretty good up there."
Most of Cosgrove's pre-season was spent working with an older group of Panthers - their under 21s Jersey Flegg squad.
He enjoyed the experience and it has fuelled his desire to see game time in that competition once the SG Ball season concludes.
"They sent a couple of boys up from SG Ball to develop them, so we trained with the 21s in pre-season. We only came back a week before it [SG Ball] started, there were seven of us," he said.
"It was good, I learned a lot. The coach said to us that if we go good in SG Ball we might go back up because SG Ball is only nine rounds and Jersey Flegg will still be playing.
"Like they'll only be five games into Jersey Flegg when our comp finishes. So that's what I'm trying to get towards as well, try and get in that squad."
Panthers opened their SG Ball campaign on Saturday and while Cosgrove admitted the performance which saw them lose 32-20 was well below par, he still has high hopes for the season.
He was also impressed with the effort of fellow Saint Josh Belfanti who made his SG Ball debut in the second row for the Panthers.
"Josh went pretty good. We play 35 minutes halves, so 70 total, and he would've played about 60 minutes, he didn't spent much time off the field," he said.
"We played pretty bad as a team, it was wet and we just dropped the ball so many times. It was probably the worst I've seen us play since I've played with this team.
"But I think we'll go pretty close, we still have a couple of players out training with the NRL squad and with them we'll go pretty close."
