The Blackfords stepped into the role in January to allow former head pastors Caleb and Renee Dwyer more time to focus on the church's regional operations, which cover 14 locations across NSW.
Mr Blackford said he and Ms Blackford hope to forward the progress the Dwyers have made with the church in Bathurst over the past five years.
"The church is doing some amazing things in the community through initiatives such as Cafe on Corporation and Hampers of Hope [for disadvantaged families], and we hope to build on it," he said.
"Caleb and Renee have done such a fantastic job, and they will still be present around the Bathurst parish on a regular basis to help us out."
The Blackfords have come to Bathurst after spending the last two years in Queensland among a larger church environment.
Mr Blackford said he and Ms Blackford hope to draw on the former experience to further the church's mission in the Bathurst community.
"A fair bit of our pastorship will be around empowering others to further engage with the local community," he said.
Ms Dwyer said she and Caleb are looking forward to supporting Gary and Robyn in their new roles.
"Caleb and I have no doubt Gary and Robyn will build on our strong foundation to ensure Generocity Church continues to thrive in Bathurst," she said.
"We'll still be very much involved with the local church, but Caleb will now oversee all GC campuses across the state as executive pastor, while I'll be focusing on international mission operations through The Horizon Project."
