I, AS were many in the Bathurst community, was surprised and disappointed to see Cr Graeme Hanger vote to remove the word "offensive" from the proposed social media code of conduct for council.

I believe the standards of behaviour in council have plummeted since the election of Cr Alex Christian and his behaviour is the very reason why this code of conduct is needed, so we can understand his reasons for wanting the word removed.
However, I thought Cr Hanger better understood the need to get back to a more civil debate on the important issues.

There is a rescission motion on the table this Wednesday evening and I'm waiting to see which Graeme Hanger turns up: the respected community leader, or someone who has chosen to be one of the "famous five".
