WITH a duck in his Saturday Bathurst Orange Inter District Cricket game and another duck the following day in the Western Zone Premier League final it wasn't looking like a great weekend for Connor Slattery.

That was until he got the ball in hand.
Slattery came away with 5-36 from his 10 overs in Sunday's final, helping Bathurst keep Dubbo 45 runs short of their total.
His big scalp was the dismissal of opener Ben Wheeler for 50.
That wicket snapped a 65-run stand between Wheeler and Jacob Hill (15) and allowed Bathurst to regain the momentum.
He then bowled out Tom Coady for a duck, had Anthony Atlee caught for 14, got Ben Knaggs trapped in front for 5 and bowled Lee Price for 6 with a delivery on the perfect length.
"It's so awesome to beat Dubbo, because over the last four years or so it's always been between the two of us," Slattery said.
"I had a bit of a terrible weekend with the bat. That was not fun at all. But with the ball I think I just got a bit lucky, bowled a couple of good balls.
"That's probably one of my better days with the ball, to be honest, or at least the most consistent. It was awesome.
"I love playing with this group of boys because they all want to be there, they all want to win and it's great that everyone can come from different teams and gel so well together."
