When Orange CYMS' Tom Belmonte posed Rugby a threat in last week's semi-final of the Twenty20 competition - he reached his 50 off 39 deliveries - it was McIntyre who sent him on his way.
McIntyre didn't finish there either, claiming 3-11 off his two overs to ensure Rugby would advance to meet Orange City in the decider at Wade Park.
"He just came on at the end, I've thrown the ball to him in the overs that matter and he's obviously been doing the business, he's one of the leading wicket takers in BOIDC," Rugby Union captain Ryan Peacock said.
"He's really stood up when I needed him to. Those wickets at the end were just smart bowling and executing really well."
Though those three wickets were McIntyre's first in the cup this season, as Peacock indicated he has been doing an impressive job for Rugby Union in the Bathurst Orange Inter District Cricket competition.
McIntyre has claimed 24 wickets at an average of 15.46, his performances including two five-fors.
Yet he's not the only Rugby player in form which means Peacock is confident of success come Friday night.
That Rugby beat Orange City by five wickets with 14.4 overs up their sleeve in their BOIDC one-dayer in January helps that confidence too.
"Everyone chipping in has been the story of our season this year ... everyone doing the little things right wins you those games of cricket," Peacock said.
"We've knocked off Orange City in a white ball game already this year so there's no reason why we can't do it again."
