For too long, Wiradjuri sites have been destroyed in a continuation of cultural destruction.
Council have an excellent opportunity here to showcase to the Wiradjuri peoples and to the broader community that they are culturally sensitive and understand the importance of the protection and preservation of significant cultural sites.
READ ALSO:
Bathurst Regional Council should take a long, hard look at themselves and ask: "Would I be upset if Wiradjuri peoples came in and destroyed the most significant of our historical buildings."
If the answer to this question is "yes", then I ask council to reconsider this development project.
