Silly Solly's will fill the void left by Cotton On, which vacated its store in the William Street shopping centre at the end of last year.
The Silly Solly's chain - which doesn't sell anything over $5 - began in Rockhampton in Central Queensland and now has stores throughout that state.
Bathurst has been chosen, alongside Lismore, Prospect and Shepparton, as one of four locations for its expansion into NSW and Victoria.
IN OTHER BUSINESS NEWS AROUND BATHURST:
Posters at the store's shopfront in the Bathurst Chase went up in the past week and Silly Solly's group adviser and consultant Solly Stanton said he expects the doors to swing open soon.
"It should be open in a couple of weeks. We'll definitely be open before Easter," he said.
"We're getting there. We've just had a few shipments delayed, but we're working towards bringing this huge concept to Bathurst."
Depending on how busy the Bathurst store is, Mr Stanton expects to employ up to 15 staff.
Silly Solly's brands itself as "Australia's number one discounter", with no items priced over $5.
Mr Stanton said the nothing over $5 pricing model is attractive for customers who are struggling with the increased cost of living.
"Our value is so high and prices so low, our customers visit more often," he said.
"We are one retailer obsessed with our customers. People are sick of the gloom and doom; they just want to save money and live better and Silly Solly's plays a role in that simple and enjoyable shopping experience."
Products include personal care, toys, consumables, cleaning products, craft, party ware, tools, hardware, gardening, giftware, storage, clothing, confectionery, cards and wrap, kitchenware, books, manchester, seasonal specials and big brand clearance grocery items.
