NBN Local NSW community ambassador Geeth Geeganage will speak at the information session about how Australia's NBN network operates and how residents can get connected.
The talk will cover the various technologies that provide access to broadband - from Fixed Line (which is typically available in more densely populated areas) to Fixed Wireless satellite connections, used mostly in regional and remote areas.
Attendees will also learn about what to consider when choosing a phone or internet provider and a plan that best suits their needs, and be given tips to optimise their in-home set-up.
"If you're having difficulty connecting to the NBN, having issues with speeds or are just interested in learning more about how it works, we encourage you to come along to this information session," library services manager Patou Clerc said.
"Technology can be daunting, but the more you continue to learn about it, the better your experience will be and sometimes it can be as simple as moving your modem to avoid obstructions or ensuring your retail plan matches your usage."
NBN Co head of state media Jane McNamara said NBN Co "is passionate about education and this information session at Bathurst Library will do just that - educate and empower locals to be tech savvy".
The information session will be held on Thursday, March 18 at 10.30am.
The library says spaces are limited and bookings are essential.
