The Western Sydney University School of Medicine has students stationed in Harris Park to help conduct health checks.
Rural schools community engagement officer Nathan Rollinson said the students were doing a range of checks on people.
"We're at the event today doing COVID safety and also community health checks," he said.
"For COVID safety we are encouraging COVID-safe protocols, so social distancing, regular hand washing and safe coughing and sneezing protocols. And then for our health checks, we are providing a free service to the community, doing blood pressure, blood sugar and lifestyle evaluations."
He said the tent had been "super busy", with people streaming in steadily across the weekend.
It not only benefits them, but the students as well.
The students are studying to become doctors, nurses and allied health professionals and the opportunity to conduct health checks is an excellent addition to their training.
"It's great for their learning and development, because it's a non-traditional environment for them to learn and implement their clinical skills, and also a good chance for them to work on public health outcomes," Mr Rollinson said.
In order for the Bathurst 500 to go ahead, a strict COVID safety plan had to be put into place.
Patrons also need to play their part, by assessing themselves before attending the event, and then maintain distance and sanitise their hands regularly inside the precinct.
Mr Rollinson said the behaviour across the weekend was excellent.
"Everyone has been so compliant and so respectful of the regulations and the protocols that we're running this event under," he said.
"We'd love to thank the public and all the patrons for doing their part in keeping us all safe."
