According to Bathurst Autofest operation manager Les Adams, over 400 entries have been received for the event, with the burnout competition selling out before Christmas.
"As far as competitors, we're well over 400. It's looking like it's going to the biggest turnout we've had at Bathurst," he said.
"People are absolutely starved for events, as you could imagine. Everything has been cancelled or postponed but the entries have still been coming in.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
"The burnout competition has been sold out before Christmas.
"All the pit garages normally sell out a week before, but they've been sold out since early January. It just goes to show they got in early, hoping that it'll all go ahead. Everyone is really excited, especially being our 10th anniversary at the Mount."
Mr Adams said he doesn't expect the event to operate too differently with coronavirus restrictions.
"Obviously we've got our COVID plan in place and extra staff on hand to remind people of social distancing. Besides that, it'll run fairly normally because people normally keep a part," he said.
"We don't have grandstands, so people can space themselves out.
"The campground, we've only got a maximum of eight on each campsite but I don't think any of them have eight. Most have four or two."
While the Bathurst Autofest will run from March 5-7, only events on Saturday and Sunday are open to the public and Mr Adams said they'll be doing the burnouts differently on the Saturday evening.
"One of the highlights that we've never done before in Bathurst - we've done it at other locations - is we're running the burnouts under lights on Saturday night, behind the pits where we normally do it," he said.
"The sound and sight at night time is just phenomenal. At day you don't really see the glow and red exhaust and the sparks and everything. It's just a very spectacular sight."
Events will run at the Mount from 9am-5.30pm on Saturday and Sunday, with tickets costing $40 for adults, $80 for families, 11-16-years-olds for $20 and under 11-year-olds get in free with a paying adult.
